The Alignment Reset
Powered by Value Strings
A self-coaching workbook to clarify your values, reconnect with who you are, and lead from there.
It’s easy to know what you should value. It’s much harder to recognize what is actually true for you — and whether the way you are living and leading reflects it.
The Change Effect Alignment Method is a guided digital workbook designed to help you move beyond a generic list of values and create personalized Value Strings that capture what matters most to you.
Through reflection, AI-supported exploration, a Values Wheel and somatic awareness, you’ll identify where you feel aligned, where something may be pulling you away from yourself, and what you want to do differently.

Knowing your values is only the beginning.
Many of us have completed a values exercise at some point. We choose words like integrity, family, growth, freedom or courage — and then put the list away.
But a list of values doesn’t necessarily tell you how those values come together to describe you, where you may be living out of alignment with them, or what they look like when life becomes complicated.
That is where Values Strings to deeper.
Instead of stopping at individual words, you being to bring your values together in language that feels personal and recognizable — something that sounds like you, rather than something taken from a corporate values poster.
Then you explore the more important question:
Am I actually living and leading this way?
What is a Value String?
A Value String brings several of your core values together into a personalized phrase that feels meaningful and true to you.
Rather than trying to remember six or eight separate words, you create a small number of Value Strings that help you recognize the person you want to be and the way you want to show up.
The goal isn’t to create something that sounds impressive.
It is to find language that makes you stop and think:
Yes. That feels like me.
I can feel it in my bones how this truly reflects me. Your Value Strings can then become a reference point for decisions, boundaries, relationships, leadership and the way you want to live.
01 — DISCOVER
Begin with who you are before the roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
Through guided “I am a person who…” statements and deeper reflection, you will look beyond the version of yourself that is competent, responsible, or rewarded — and begin to uncover the fuller picture of what matters to you.
02 — CREATE
Use your reflections to identify the core values that keep showing up underneath your words.
With optional AI-supported prompts, you will refine those values and create personalized Value Strings — short, meaningful phrases that feel specific, grounded, and true to you.
03 — TEST
Slow down and notice what actually feels true.
You will use somatic awareness, alignment questions, and reflection on competing values to explore where you feel grounded, where you feel tension, and where your current choices may be pulling you away from what matters most.
04 — INTEGRATE
Bring your values into real life and leadership.
You will apply your Value Strings to a current challenge, identify the smallest meaningful shift you can make, and create a 7-Day Alignment Plan to begin living one step closer to what you already know is true.
Open the workbook. Pick up a pen.
Although the workbook is delivered digitally, I encourage you to complete your reflections in a journal rather than typing your answers.
Writing by hand naturally slows the process down. Give yourself permission to write quickly, follow what comes up, and notice the statements that feel especially easy — or surprisingly difficult — to put on paper.
This isn’t about completing an exercise. It’s about slowing down enough to hear yourself.
By the end, you’ll have:
✓ 6-8 clearly identified core values
✓ Up to 4 personalized Value Strings
✓ A clearer picture of where you’re aligned — and where you’re not
✓ Greater awareness of what alignment feels like in your body
✓One or two areas you want to focus on
✓ A small, meaningful next step.
And language you can return to when work, life or leadership begins pulling you away from what matters.
Know who you are. Lead from there.
